We’ve known each other for years
She’s been my saving grace
Through the laughter and the tears
I’ve treasured memories we’ve shared
And how she’s clothed my fears
When my soul was bare
She’ll be my friend until the end
I was about to say these very words when
Out of the blue she tells me “I love you†and
I didn’t know what to say
Never knew she felt that way
Thought that we were only friends
Well I guess it just depends, so I say
I guess I love you too
I should have noticed the signs
A playful hand on my thigh
Or the sparkle in her eye
Yeah, we might have kissed before
But I thought it was just for fun
Now she wants a whole lot more
I think that we should take it slow
We shouldn’t rush to jump in to the unknown
Out of the blue she tells me “I love you†and

How could I be so blind?
She was reaching out for me
Was too clueless not to see
